Wonderful views of the classic Tiger Leaping Gorge and majestic Haba Snow Mountain. Experience the diversity of nature and minority culture.
Day 1 Arrive in Lijiang from Kunming and spend the night in Lijiang Old Town.
Day 2 Drive from Lijiang 3 hrs to Qiaotou from where we start our 6 hrs trek to the simple Tea Horse guesthouse, which is situated on the slope of the mountain at 2.400 m. Here we'll spend the night. The amazing view from this guesthouse includes the majestic snow-capped peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. (Hot shower available).
Day 3 Continue through the Tiger Leaping Gorge, for about 5 hrs until we reach Tina's Guesthouse (situated at the bank of the river on 1.800m). It's really impossible to describe the spectacular scenery. It is so beautiful that you want to scream. We'll have a picnic lunch on the way and in the afternoon we'll arrive at our comfortable guesthouse.(Hot shower available).
Day 4 From Tina's guesthouse we'll drive along the road by the side of the Yangtze River for about 20 min until we get to a Naxi village. Here we'll start walking for about 6 to 7 hrs to the campsite; a nice meadow at the foot of the majestic Haba Snow mountain. We'll have a picnic in the pine tree woods. (Hot shower not available).
Day 5 Today we will continue to explore the Haba Snow mountain areas, before we put down our tents, for two nights, in a great meadow with a murmuring stream amongst a big forest named 'Bear's Paradise’; here, the villagers said that their cows were killed by bears and sometimes they can still hear their roars. During our exploration (app. 6 hrs) we will visit several different ethnic minorities' villages, including Yi, Naxi, and Hui, and take a look at their way of life. (Hot shower not available)
Day 6 Today is a real forest exploring day with big diversity of trees, rhododendron and other plants before we clime up to a holy lake, situated among the sea of rhododendron woods with 4200mh,it could be a paradise of plants hunters (Hot shower not available). 6 hrs hiking, back to the same campsite "Bear's paradise", if you are brave enough you can have a cold bath in the stream.
Day 7 Morning walking through forest and villages to a road where we meet our vehicle, and then we drive to Zhongdian via White Water Terrace, where the place of Naxi Dongba religion originated is, and some beautiful Yi minority and Tibetan villages available. Lunch in the restaurant on the way. Afternoon visit of Songshanling monastery, the biggest one in this part of Yunnan Tibet. Stay overnight in a Tibetan style hotel in Zhongdian.
Day 8 Morning catch flight back to Kunming.
